The open discussion gave students an opportunity to talk to Kevin, ask questions, and learn from his experience to date. He was able to dispel a few myths, and provide encouragement to those who are looking to embark on a career working for themselves.
Aled Elias, business studies tutor at the school said "It's great for the students to get hands on knowledge, I really do think that they have picked up ideas which will open their eyes to the possibility of working for themselves".

Kevin Mansell-Abell of local design firm 'ThatGraphicDesigner.co.uk' has given a series of talks to A level business studies groups at Chepstow Comprehensive School in order to promote and give a greater understanding of entrepreneurship. It is now an integral element of the A level curriculum, and what better way to better understand the pro's and con's about taking a career path of your own, than to talk to someone who has 'been there' and 'done it'.
Kevin was a former student at Chepstow Comprehensive, completing GCSE's and A Levels at the School. He then went onto UWE to complete a diploma in art and design, and then further onto a degree in graphic design. Whilst studying for his degree, Kevin won several competitions which gave him the push to look for more 'real life' work'. In early 2007 Kevin developed his skills and contacts into 'ThatGraphicDesigner.co.uk' based just outside Chepstow - a primarily print based graphic design studio that specialises in marketing, promotion, identity and branding.
